El Brujo has unveiled the track selections for the latest instalment of his show Work In Progress, episode 9, featuring El Brujo and DJ Kev Willis. Scientific Sound Asia is recognized as the premier electronic music radio station and DJ agency in Asia, serving both local and international audiences.
El Brujo, whose real name is Robert Milanesi, was born in Italy in 1964. From a young age, he nurtured a passion for music, which led him to become a seminal figure in the underground techno and rave scene in Bologna, Italy, beginning in 1994.
In 2008, he debuted with the track "Warriors" under the Milan-based record label Open Legs. Two years later, Jambalay Records launched its label with a notable event at Club Geminis in the Ibiza harbour, Spain.
The record label and El Brujo achieved international acclaim when Maya Jane Coles featured their track 'Mozambique' in her February 2011 chart. Their partnership with Big Mojo led to El Brujo's inaugural physical CD release, 'Nutty Fellas Are Go'. In January 2019, El Brujo's 'Plastic Dreams', initially released on Frame Worxx, climbed to #33 on the Beatport Hard Techno Top 100 chart.
EL Brujo has established a significant presence in the music industry with releases on several prestigious labels such as Hydraulic, Naked Lunch, Elektrax, Frame Workxx, LW Recordings, Subwoofer, Sound Dissonance, Physical Techno, among others. His track "Shit Happens" gained recognition from DJ Rush in May 2022 and achieved the 10th spot in the Beatport Top 100 for Jackin House.
El Brujo's music is genuinely unique, drawing inspiration from the cosmic expanse. His work defies genre boundaries, reflecting his inventive musical style. Each month, El Brujo introduces a guest DJ from his impressive lineup of House and Techno producers and artists. They collaborate to deliver "Work in Progress," an experimental and unreleased Techno and House Music radio show.
Guest DJ Kev Willis (second hour).
This week's guest DJ for the second hour is DJ Kev Willis, a Techno DJ and producer hailing from Stoke On Trent in the north of England. He began his journey with DJing and music production as a teenager and has since become deeply involved in Techno music.
Between 2004 and 2009, he hosted his own programs on Techno FM in Canada. Over time, these shows gained popularity with an international audience, providing him with enhanced opportunities to hone his skills as a DJ and to host additional shows on the station.
Ultimately, he chose to leave the station and venture forth, and the hosts valued his contributions, wishing him luck in his future endeavours. His DJing experiences bolstered his confidence and provided opportunities to connect with fellow DJs and producers, from whom he received positive feedback.
He has showcased his skills on numerous Techno stations and podcasts, such as Fnoob Techno Radio and Future Music FM. His proficiency with the decks has resulted in performances at a wide array of events, including Load, Ghettoblaster, Waveform Riot, Subterraneo, Metro Casa, Heritage, and others.
He previously hosted his program 'Innovate' on Cosmos Radio with guest DJs for each episode, and also appeared on Techno Pulse Radio as part of Techno Connection UK. When he's not broadcasting on the radio, he dedicates significant time to creating new music.
His tracks have gained popularity in the Techno scene, and with each release, he aims to enhance his production abilities. This month's show features a broad range of genres including Jackin House, Tech House, Techno, and House.
