Guest DJ Henry Mwnn Lobbs (second hour).
This week's guest DJ (second hour) is Henry Mwnn Lobbs, Henry Mwnn Lobbs a.k.a Enrico Lobina was born in Sardinia, Italy in the early seventies. His musical career began at the age of 13 when he was given an electric bass guitar and for fun, he created a Punk band with his peers.
Aged 20 he endeavoured in his musical pursuits as a drummer this time in a heavy metal band. Then one night after performing in his metal band they stumbled into an after-hour venue that was playing electronic music and he was catapulted into admiration.
He spent the next few years experimenting and fine-tuning his production abilities with software and other production tools but could not find his electronic key. After a while, he turned his focus to analogue pieces of machinery such as the Roland MC 303 Groovebox, KORG and many others.
Then in 1993, he flew off to the United States of America for a 3-month course in music production under the instruction of one of the Detroit Techno pioneers known as Frank Bones. After his return, he took a trip to Northern Italy to express his newfound skills in the underground scene but was not taken well due to his definition of Techno.
He then relocated to London, the United Kingdom in search of the Techno scene finding himself immersed in the musical vortex appearing as a live act in various English clubs and raves. He started to perform as an alter ego Xenomorph under the guidance of JK Lloyd and he began to publish his music for Onirikalab revisiting Acid Techno.
The obsession for more energetic and dark sounds prevailed and he decided to test a territory that was still a virgin in those years, Dark Techno. Thus was born HML (Henry Mwnn Lobbs) with his first album in the genre Dark Techno released as Gravital Darkness.
The Album met with some success reaching number 26 in worldwide sales alongside artists such as The Prodigy and others. He became an active resident on many radio stations spreading his musical culture to the masses.
He has released music on many labels such as Onirikalab, CBJ, Lets Techno, Basstape, Jambalay Records, Cosmic Audio Label, Toregualto Entertainment, Alienator Records and NDI. He recently joined forces with a Norwegian artist and the pair have several collaborations in the pipeline under their duo as BįňÇ (Brothers in Crime).
His show in the second hour features a LIVE broadcast using his production studio and features his music. The genres in this month's show include Downtempo Techno, Techno, and Acid Techno. This show originally aired on Friday the 21st of July 2023, listen to the Mixcloud player below.
