Bicycle Corporation is set to unveil the eagerly awaited episode 115 of the 'Electronic Roots' show. Scientific Sound Asia is recognized as the premier electronic dance music genre station, promoter and DJ agency for Asia and beyond, catering to both local and international listeners.
Bicycle Corporation is made up of the Italian duo, DJ and producer Marco Mei, and Stefano Ugliano, also known as 6884. Marco started his career in the early nineties, participating in house music and techno events, especially with the 'Urban People' crew.
As time passed, Marco's stature in the music industry rose, cementing his status as a respected talent throughout Italy. His accomplishments extended beyond national borders. With his significant domestic success, Marco began to garner international acclaim, which opened up opportunities for performances around the globe.
From a young age in Turin, Italy, Stefano, a talented musician, he has demonstrated his potential. He spent his free time immersing himself in the world of music, displaying a fervent passion for the arts. Alongside his studies in classical piano, percussion, and drums, Stefano developed a profound admiration for Chopin's works and the West African Djembe.
Stefano's steadfast commitment to various music genres fostered a distinctive passion—a deep enchantment with the turntable virtuoso, the DJ. The captivating songs and rhythms crafted by these artists were a precious rarity on the airwaves of Italian radio stations during that era.
For many, the notion of producing such sounds and showcasing them to vast audiences may appear as an unattainable dream. However, Stefano was undeterred by this perception; he possessed a clear vision that he was determined to bring to fruition.
Bicycle Corporation emerged from unwavering determination, hard work, fortuitous encounters with Marco, and tireless commitment. Boasting over 50 tracks and remixes across genres like Techno, Deep House, French House, and Tech House, the duo has achieved considerable acclaim.
Amidst their growing success, Marco and Stefan remain grounded and faithful to their origins. They have revisited their early tracks and established a Bandcamp page for their distribution. Additionally, as highlighted artists in our DJ agency for Asia, they persist in strengthening their impact on the region's electronic music scene.
The program showcases a curated selection of leading tracks from artists in the House and Tech House genres. This show was originally aired on Wednesday, May 22nd, 2024, you can listen to the recording using the Mixcloud player below.
