Today, Graham Gold released the playlist for his weekly show, Esta La Musica. Scientific Sound Asia Radio stands as the leading underground radio station and DJ agency for Southeast Asia, boasting an international audience.
Graham's weekly show took its name from a tattoo on his right upper arm, which he got during a DJ set in Los Angeles, United States, back in 1999. Graham's worldwide recognition in the DJ scene and music industry stemmed from his weekly shows on London's Kiss 100 and his club night 'Peach'. However, his new show began after parting ways with Kiss 100 and moving to South East Asia, adopting the name inked on his arm for the new techno show 'Esta La Musica'.
Graham first gained local recognition through his decade-long, six-nights-a-week residency at Gullivers Club in London's Mayfair from 1980 to 1990. His ascent began at 17 in the early seventies when Gold's passion for Afrocentric music inspired him to create a popular mobile disco with a friend, 'The Funky Road Show,' which quickly became the most coveted brand in West London. By 18, Graham was already a fixture in the capital's music scene, DJing his beloved black music five nights a week.
This journey through the '80s took him across numerous pirate radio stations in London, weaving a musical tapestry from Reggae, Soul, Disco, to Jazz Funk. It culminated in him becoming a part of the Radio London Soul Night Out team and hosting a weekly Saturday night soul show on London's Capital FM, which earned him the 'Broadcaster of the Year' award in 1985.
Graham's presence marked the inception of Kiss FM London, which catalyzed his rise to global fame as a DJ. His weekly broadcasts were pivotal to Kiss FM's success and propelled him onto the international scene, securing him a spot in the DJ Magazine Top 100 for eight consecutive years and a place in Dash's "Most Popular DJs in the World of All Time."
Graham continues to enjoy a substantial international following and expresses his passion for music through his show and regular performances in Asia and around the world. His weekly show showcases the finest in House and Techno, with direct promos from labels and artists across genres such as Deep House, Progressive House, Melodic House and Techno, Tech House, Deep Tech, Organic House, and Techno. The show, which originally aired on Saturday, July 13th, is available for listening on the Mixcloud player below.
