During the early stages of his career as a disc jockey, he held a decade-long club residency at Gullivers Club in London's Mayfair, performing six nights a week. His journey in music started at the age of 17 in the early 1970s, when his passion for Afrocentric music led him to collaborate with his close friend Duncan Uren. Together, they formed 'The Funky Road Show,' a mobile disco that quickly gained popularity in London's West End.
