DJ Joshua has published the track lists for his new 'Floating Beats' and 'Velvety Elements' show this Monday 29th of June 2020 from 6 to 8 PM Indochina Time (ICT) and repeating on Friday from 6 to 8 AM (ICT). Scientific Sound Asia is an online English-language electronic music station and DJ Agency for the Asian region and internationally.
DJ Joshua, known in the music scene as Joshua Mar, is a true connoisseur of electronic music, hailing from Évora, Portugal. His passion for music began with a love for vinyl, a collection that spans across multiple genres. However, his heart beats strongest for the pulsating rhythms of Deep House, Techno, Melodic Techno, and Progressive House.
Joshua's weekly show, Floating Beats, has become a haven for fans of Melodic House, Deep House Music, and Techno Music. This show allows him to explore and experiment with progressive sounds and the calmer, more melodic side of electronic music.
Building on the success of Floating Beats, Joshua has introduced a second hour to his show titled Velvety Elements. This segment is dedicated exclusively to the smoothest and most soulful elements of House Music, blending genres like Vocal House and Detroit Techno into an immersive auditory experience.
Starting his career in the early '90s, Joshua quickly became an influential figure in Portugal's underground scene. His journey as a DJ began with local radio shows, where he mixed everything from Tech House to Progressive House Music. As the rave culture exploded in Portugal, Joshua's involvement in Techno Events and House Music Events intensified, leading to performances at some of the most prominent venues in the country.
The birth of his daughter marked a temporary hiatus from the music world. However, Joshua's unyielding love for music pulled him back, leading to the creation of Floating Beats Sessions. This show is more than just a radio program; it's a platform where Joshua shares his deep connection with music, inviting listeners to experience a spectrum of genres that can make both the mind and body move.
"Music is an art form," Joshua says, "a fusion of elements that can evoke emotions and compel the body to move. 'Floating Beats' is where you can hear sounds that float, ultimately landing softly on your soul."
In his weekly show, Joshua curates a diverse mix of House Music and Techno genres, featuring everything from Soulful House and Melodic Techno to Detroit House and Vocal House. His podcasts have gained international acclaim, broadcasting on House Music Radio and Techno Radio stations worldwide, making Joshua a beloved figure in the global electronic music community.
