DJ Joshua has released the latest tracklists for his weekly shows, Floating Beats and Velvety Elements, now available on Mixcloud. Scientific Sound Asia, a premier online English-language radio station, promoter and DJ agency caters to the Asian region and a global audience.
Joshua Mar, also known as DJ Joshua, is a dedicated connoisseur of electronic music hailing from Évora, Portugal. His extensive and meticulously curated music collection plays a crucial role in shaping his approach as a DJ. From an early age, Joshua's fascination with electronic music led him to explore a broad spectrum of genres, including House, Drum and Bass, and Chill-out, with a particular focus on Techno.
In the early nineties, like many teenagers of his time, Joshua embarked on a journey to master the art of DJing. He became an avid vinyl collector, immersing himself in the burgeoning rave culture. Joshua contributed to the local music scene by hosting radio shows that featured various genres of electronic music and performing at events he organized with friends and fellow ravers. As the rave scene in Portugal began to flourish, he recognized the importance of providing a media platform for the groundbreaking electronic sounds that were emerging.
Despite his deep passion for music, Joshua took a break from the scene to focus on fatherhood after the birth of his first child. However, as his child grew older, his desire to return to his musical roots intensified. This led to the creation of his new radio show, Floating Beats.
Joshua describes his Floating Beats podcast as a blend of various elements that evoke emotions and inspire movement: "Music is an art form. It is the fusion of elements that can convey emotions and make the body move. This is a place where you hear sounds that can float and end up falling onto your body... Enjoy it."
Each week, DJ Joshua’s shows explore a range of House Music and Techno sub-genres, including Deep House, Tech House, Melodic House, Detroit House, Soulful House, Progressive House, Vocal House, and Melodic Techno. In his latest episodes, Joshua features tracks from notable artists such as David Alvarado, Oliver Schories, Hector Couto, DJ Vibe, Ben Balance, DJ Steaw, and Technotronic.
