Samotarev from Green Snake Records has announced his playlist for his forthcoming show 'Right Focus' 2 on our Radio station this Friday the 30th of August 2019 10 PM to 12 AM Indochina Time (ICT) and repeating on Sunday from 10 PM to 12 AM (ICT), Scientific Sound Asia Radio is the premier Underground Radio station for Ex Pats and locals in Japan, Vietnam, China, Thailand and the rest of South East Asia.
Alexey Samotarev, also known as Samotarev, initiated his DJ career in 1997 in Russia, focusing on Breakbeat and Electrohouse genres. He played a key role in founding The Python Project, a trio specializing in Progressive House, Tech House, and Techno, alongside Yura Kolomiytsev and Eugeniy Litovchenko in Rostov-on-Don, Russia.
He began his career as a DJ around the same time, utilizing both Vinyl and CDJ's. His performances took place in numerous clubs across Russia and Ukraine, as well as at festivals and private events in various cities throughout the two countries.
The Python Project released its first album, DeepPressure, in 2004, followed by a series of tracks. From 2004 to 2006, the artist was a co-organizer of the Promo group SabotaDJ, overseeing Massive Music Festivals in the south of Russia with attendance reaching the thousands. Between 2005 and 2007, he co-hosted the weekly radio show Adrenalin on Radio N. In 2006, The Python Project released its first track on the Xeton Label, with subsequent releases on labels such as Ascension, Balkan Connection, Behold, Bellarine, Composure, Jetlag, Monad, Presslab, Proton, Real Music, Segment, System, and Toes In The Sand.
His solo career as Samotarev began in 2009 with the release of the 'Space Travel' track on The Lowbit Label (featuring remixes by Thomas Penton, Rachael Star, and Joshua Collins). In the same year, Samotarev founded his own label – The Green Snake Label, focusing on progressive sound.
In 2012, he relocated to Saint-Petersburg, where he secured a residency at Parkking, a renowned after-party club, and performed at various other popular venues including Music Hall, 4:20 Music Lab, Prodj Club, OM Café, Look, and Q Club. In 2016, Samotarev relocated to Thailand, specifically Koh Phangan, where he became a resident at 4U Bar & Lost Paradise and participated in the Scandal Festival.
He regularly performs at venues such as KC Beach Club, The Beach, and Gecko Club in Koh Samui, as well as 360 Bar, Loi Lay, Samsara, Guy’s Bar, Local Bar, Coast Resort, Seaboard Bungalows, Amsterdam Bar, Jungle Experience, and Mustache in Bangkok. Samoterev is dedicated to producing music continuously. One of his singles created during his time in Thailand, "Voice of Phangan" (Bonzai Progressive), achieved a place in the TOP 100 Progressive House on Beatport.
