Samotarev of Green Snake Records has revealed the lineup for his upcoming show 'Right Focus' 3, which premiered on our radio station on Friday, November 1st, 2019. Alexey Samotarev, known professionally as Samotarev, started his career as a disc jockey in 1997, specializing in Breakbeat and Electrohouse in Russia. He was a founding member of The Python Project, a Progressive House, Tech House, and Techno trio established in Rostov-on-Don, Russia, by Yura Kolomiytsev, Alexei Samotarev (DJ Samotarev), and Eugeniy Litovchenko.
Around the same time, he began his career as a DJ, performing with vinyl and CDJs. He has played at numerous clubs in Russia and Ukraine, as well as at festivals and private events across both countries.
The Python Project released their debut album 'Deep Pressure' in 2004, followed by a series of tracks. From 2004 to 2006, as a co-organizer of the Sabota DJ promo group, he orchestrated Massive Music Festivals in southern Russia, drawing thousands of attendees.
Between 2005 and 2007, he co-hosted the weekly radio show Adrenalin on Radio N. The first track from the Python Project was released in 2006 on the Xeton Label, followed by numerous releases on labels such as Ascension, Balkan Connection, Behold, Bellarine, Composure, Jetlag, Monad, Presslab, Proton, Real Music, Segment, System, and Toes In The Sand.
In 2009 he started his solo career as Samotarev with the 'Space Travel' track released on The Lowbit Label (with remixes by Thomas Penton, Rachael Star and Joshua Collins). In 2009 Samotarev established his label – The Green Snake Label, its main direction being progressive sound. In 2012 he moved to Saint Petersburg where he began the residency of Parkking, a famous after-party club and played in many other popular clubs such as Music Hall, 4:20 Music Lab, Prodj Club, OM Café, Look, and Q Club.
In 2016 Samotarev moved to Thailand (Koh Phangan) and became a resident at 4U Bar & Lost Paradise, taking part in the Scandal Festival (Koh Phangan). He regularly plays in KC Beach Club, The Beach and Gecko Club (Koh Samui), 360 Bar, Loi Lay, Samsara, Guy’s Bar, Local Bar, Coast Resort, Seaboard Bungalows, Amsterdam Bar, Jungle Experience and Mustache (Bangkok). Samoterev will never stop producing. One of Samotarev’s singles he made whilst living in Thailand “Voice of Phangan” (Bonzai Progressive) was in the TOP 100 Progressive House at Beatport.
